Platforms
Squadron 42 platforms
Checked 2026-10-17
The announced platform is Windows on Steam. A console version has not been announced. That is a narrower sentence than "never".
The official store snapshot reviewed on 17 October 2026 lists Windows. Controller support, community VR tags and historical co-op plans are different claims and do not establish console releases or confirmed launch modes.
What is actually on the record
| Platform | Status | Why I say that |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Listed | platforms.windows true |
| macOS | Not supported | platforms.mac false |
| Linux | Not supported | platforms.linux false |
| PS5 / PS5 Pro | Not announced | No line on Steam or squadron42.com |
| Xbox Series | Not announced | Same |
| VR | Not announced | VR is a user tag, not a store feature |
Controller, co-op, and VR are separate questions
Steam lists full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense. That is a PC feature. A DualSense line does not mean a PlayStation 5 version exists.
The store describes a single-player game. Secondary references discuss historical co-op plans, but they do not establish a confirmed co-op launch mode. Do not buy on the assumption that those plans are final.
User tags on the Steam page include VR and 6DOF. Categories do not include a VR flag from the publisher. I am not writing "Squadron 42 supports VR".

Questions I keep getting
Will Squadron 42 be on Xbox?
No console version has been announced as of 17 October 2026. The only true platform field is Windows.
Is there a Mac version?
No. Steam marks mac and linux as false.
