How to buy Squadron 42

You cannot buy it yet. Pre-order, package sale, and Steam key are the same closed door until Cloud Imperium opens a price.

The official storefront snapshot has no buy or pre-order offer for Squadron 42. The official site directs visitors to the Steam wishlist. That does not prove that no private test or review keys exist; it means no official retail Steam-key offer has been verified.

The only honest steps

  • Wishlist https://store.steampowered.com/app/4045720/Squadron_42/. That is the button the official site and the store page both support.
  • On an RSI account, open Account Settings, then Games Library, and see whether a pledge already includes Squadron 42. The support article describes that check.
  • Treat any "Steam key", "preload", or "package sale" offer as untrustworthy while price_overview stays null.

After release, still two channels

The support article says accounts that hold a pledge including Squadron 42 can download after release. It does not say those accounts receive a Steam key, and the Steam page does not say an old pledge appears automatically when you link accounts.

Linking is a separate fact: the store page requires an RSI account and says linking to Steam is supported. "Supported" is not "your old pledge becomes a key". The backers page stays on that distinction.

Can I pre-order Squadron 42?

No. The Steam page is coming soon, with no price and no pre-order button, as of 17 October 2026.

Where do I buy a Steam key?

No official retail Steam-key offer is verified. A reseller claim is not evidence of authorization; use the official storefronts and existing-pledge guidance.
